Well, think again, because the hugely talented Scottish musician RuMac recently delivered a version of the track on Britain’s Got Talent that beats any other version in terms of uniqueness and originality. Covering the song using only an accordion and his extraordinary vocals, RuMac had almost everyone in the crowd at his audition on their feet and dancing to his unusual rendition.

<img decoding="async" src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/aEeyTWzdOeE/maxresdefault.jpg" alt="RuMac plays 'Yes Sir, I Can Boogie' on ACCORDION! It was only when he stepped the pace up a notch and broke out into the song’s famous chorus that the crowd really started to get on board with their performance, and going by the looks on the judges’ faces, it looked like they were loving it too!

Guest judge KSI seemed particularly shocked at the performance that was unfolding before his eyes, with his mouth wide open with amazement as RuMac’s act gradually picked up the pace. Simon Cowell, meanwhile, looked decidedly unimpressed at first, but when he realized the audience was really beginning to warm to RuMac, it seemed as though he did the same.

RuMac’s act might be a little unusual, but he’s been perfecting his art for a few years now, particularly through performing at pubs and bars in his native Scotland. The video below shows the electrifying intensity of a live RuMac show, and following his Britain’s Got Talent audition, I have no doubt that he will be drawing bigger crowds than he ever has before.

<iframe loading="lazy" title="Ruairidh MacLean (RuMac) live - Yes Sir, I Can Boogie.
